Terms of Service for Docket

Last updated: Sep-2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Docket ("Docket," "we," "us," or "our"), a document management service available at my-docket.com and through the Docket web application (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Docket is operated by: 4MB Technologies Stentenberg Str 31, 51702 Bergneustadt, Germany
Contact: info@my-docket.com

1. The Service

Docket helps you to scan, organize, translate, and search personal documents. When you upload a document, Docket extracts its text, identifies deadlines and categories, and stores this information so you can search, review, and act on your documents more easily. Original files you upload are stored in your own Google Drive account, not on Docket's servers — see our Privacy Policy for full details on how your information is handled.

2. Accounts and Eligibility

To use Docket, you need a Google Account and must complete Google's OAuth authorization process to grant Docket the specific permissions described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for keeping your Docket account password confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. The Service is not directed at children, and you must not use Docket if you are under the age of 16.

3. Plans and Payment

Docket offers several plans, including a permanent Free plan and paid Basic and Pro plans, each with specific monthly limits on documents processed and AI questions asked. Current plan details and pricing are shown at my-docket.com.

Free plan: No payment required, no credit card needed, no expiration date.
Paid plans: Billed monthly or yearly, depending on the option you choose at signup. Payment is currently accepted via cash arrangement or, where offered, through our payment processor (Stripe). Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled beforehand.
Custom/Enterprise plans: Available on request, with terms agreed individually.

Prices are subject to change. If we change the price of your plan, we will provide reasonable advance notice before the change takes effect on your next renewal.

4. Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us at info@my-docket.com. Cancellation stops future billing; it does not retroactively refund amounts already paid for the current billing period, unless required by applicable law. Documents you've stored in your own Google Drive remain yours and accessible to you independently of your Docket subscription, even after cancellation.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Docket only for lawful purposes. You must not:

1. Upload content that is illegal, infringes on someone else's rights, or that you do not have the right to upload;
2. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other users' accounts, or Docket's underlying infrastructure;
3. Use the Service to send spam, malware, or other harmful content;
4. Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. AI-Generated Content

Docket uses third-party AI providers (Google Gemini, and Anthropic Claude as a backup) to extract text, translate documents, categorize documents, and answer questions about your documents ("Ask AI"), as described in our Privacy Policy. AI-generated summaries, translations, categorizations, deadline extractions, and drafted replies are provided for your convenience and may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing any AI-generated content — including drafted replies and extracted deadlines — before relying on it or sending it to a third party. Docket is not a substitute for professional, legal, or financial advice.

7. Your Content and Intellectual Property

You retain all ownership rights to the documents and content you upload to Docket. By using the Service, you grant Docket the limited right to process your document content (extracting text, generating summaries, translations, and AI responses) solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.The Docket name, logo, and the Service itself (excluding your own content) are the property of 4MB Technologies and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without permission.

8. Service Availability

We aim to keep Docket available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances outside our control, including outages of third-party providers (Google Cloud, Google Drive, Google Gemini, or Anthropic Claude) that Docket depends on.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, 4MB Technologies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, missed deadlines, or reliance on AI-generated content. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable German or EU law, including liability for intent or gross negligence.

10. Changes to the Service and These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or for legal reasons. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continued use of Docket after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using Docket and close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) with reasonable notice.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict of law principles, and without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence if you are a consumer located in the EU.
